Who we are
Stamford Smart Homes Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for the personal information we collect through this website and through our consultations. We are a company registered in England and Wales, based in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you contact us by email, phone, or through an enquiry form, we collect your name, contact details, and any project information you choose to share.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, we collect anonymised usage information through Google Analytics (see our Cookie Policy). This includes the pages you view, approximate location at country level, the type of device and browser you use, and how you arrived at the site.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16, and we do not process any special-category data.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- Responding to your enquiry and preparing a proposal: legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- Delivering and supporting a project once instructed: performance of a contract.
- Occasional communication about ongoing care: legitimate interests, with the right to opt out at any time.
- Improving this website: consent (analytics cookies are only set after you accept them).
- Meeting legal, accounting, and tax obligations: legal obligation.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics) for anonymised usage statistics.
- Trusted suppliers and trades who assist on your project once you instruct us, under written confidentiality.
- Our professional advisers (accountants, insurers, legal counsel) where strictly necessary.
- UK authorities where we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
Google Analytics may transfer data outside the UK. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which provides protection broadly equivalent to UK GDPR.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months after our last conversation, then deleted.
- Commissioned projects: for the duration of the engagement and for 7 years afterwards, to meet UK accounting and legal record-keeping obligations.
- Analytics data: retained for 14 months in aggregated form, then automatically deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted (subject to legal retention)
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive a copy of data you have provided to us in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@stamfordsmarthomes.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.
Security
We hold personal data on UK and EU based services with reputable providers, protected by access controls and encryption in transit. Project documentation is held under confidentiality with everyone involved.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
